Wildlife recovery in Europe

European Wildlife Comeback Report, commisioned by Rewiling Europe monitores 50 species in europe: 24 mammals, 25 birds and one reptile. It shows great increase in number of many wildlife species, such as grey wolfes, white-tailed eagles or brown bears. Number of grey wolves  increased by 1800%, number of white-tailed eagles by 445% since 1970s, and brown bear population increased by 44%, since 1960s. Eurasian beaver increased its range by 835% and increased its species abundance by 16000% since 1960s. This upturn is happening mostly because of human efforts. People started thinking more about enviroment, governments started giving animals habitats to live and legal protection. This report shows, that our measures matter, it is nice to see how nature is standing  up after the damage we have dealt.

  1. Looks like good news. Maybe there's still a chance for nature to survive the destruction humans have caused.
